MUSIC HEALS

OUR CAUSE

The BASH is dedicated to bringing awareness and providing support to local Gainesville nonprofits. Since 2017, we've collaborated with UF Health Shands Arts In Medicine Program. The BASH has been able to raise over $85,000 for the transformative work these musicians and artists do.

This year, The BASH is also working with M.A.M.A’s Club.

M.A.M.A’s Club, stands for Music, Arts, Movement and Action. This program is located in the Porters Quarter, which is a historically black community in Gainesville, surrounding Depot Park. This nonprofit is the brainchild of Faye Williams, a local social justice activist and community organizer.

DONATE

In 2018, we started The Music in Medicine fund, associated with UF Health Shands

and to date, we have raised over $85,000.

Every day at UF Health in Gainesville, FL, professional musicians trained to work in the healthcare setting, impact the lives of patients and staff by performing music at the bedside. In addition, these musicians participate in clinical research and education programs that demonstrate the capacity of music to reduce suffering and empower musicians to do this work in other communities across the US and abroad. The fund helps ensure sustainable funding for the work of these talented musicians, and the transformative work they do.
